Northern Neck Audubon Helps Fund Drive

PRESS RELEASE March, 2008

Through its Foundation, the Northern Neck Audubon Society (NNAS) contributed $5,000 to the Friends of Dragon Run to help preserve the Dragon wilderness area, a million year old swamp with an ecosystem so unique it ranked second in ecological significance in Smithsonian Institution research on the Chesapeake Bay region.

FODR has an opportunity to purchase 74 acres of undeveloped land. When added to the 369 acres which FODR already owns and manages, this tract will expand the preservation area to 443 acres and provide a continuous undeveloped stream-side corridor.

Northern Neck Audubon, committed to preserving our wildlife and its habitat, is honored to support FODR and its efforts to preserve an area of awesome natural beauty for all of us to enjoy. -
