To broaden our knowledge of the Dragon Run Watershed the Science and Research Committee is starting a research and monitoring database. We believe our increasing awareness of the watershed will encourage protection of this special ecosystem. With assistance from Lorna Wass, who has access to some earlier research documents, a surprising diversity of reports and inventories may emerge. Already a new species of stonefly has been found on the Dragon.

The database will contain complete bibliographic citations plus subject descriptors. It can be searched by author and subject descriptors. A Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) Library web site and our own FODR web site will make it searchable to everyone online. A hard copy of the documents will be available at VIMS Library.
