Friends of Dragon Run has protected 350 acres of land along the Dragon. This total includes 296 acres in FODR ownership and 54 additional acres with conservation easements.

These properties protect 9600 feet of shoreline in Essex and Middlesex Counties, and 5800 feet in King and Queen County. 

They include the 203 acre Big Island tract and 6 acres at the New Dragon Bridge, both in Middlesex County. King and Queen properties include 55 acres at Ware Bridge and easements on two parcels across the Dragon from the Big Island preserve. 

Another property protects the stream headwaters near Powcan.
