Another Nice Day in the Woods - Tom Gregory
Seven FODR members recently spent time clearing downed trees from the road leading into our new Bulman property. Gordon Page did the chainsaw work. Mark Chittenden, Tom Gregory, Cynthia Honablue, George Wolff, Susan Wolff, and Joe Nolte did the heavy lifting by moving the cut logs off of the road. Tasks finished in about an hour, we then set about exploring the preserve. Later we adjourned to Big Island landing for lunch. The forecast for January 19 included snow, which didn’t appear until we all were headed home in the afternoon. This outing was a typical “property tour and work trip.” We usually perform a short maintenance project on one of the FODR preserves, then spend most of the trip exploring and discussing FODR’s efforts to protect Dragon Run. It’s fun, and a good excuse to get into the woods. |
