Dragon Run Legacy

FODR Legacy Society

Testimonials
“I am not one who wants to drain the swamp.  Rather I want to praise the swamp and champion the importance of the Dragon Run, its exceptional native biodiversity, and life altering opportunities for place-based education and recreation.  My ability to help empower Friends of Dragon Run to continue its work to preserve, protect, and encourage wise use after I am gone brings to me a great deal of pride and satisfaction.  Whoever coined the phrase “Cherish the Dragon” was right. Supporting FODR’s mission enriched my life: great challenges, great fun, incredible experiences in the natural world, and exceptional teammates. No question, the Dragon is a special place.”

Picture
A Bald Cypress is a keystone species that is at the heart of the Dragon Run.  It supports a wide range of functions and supports biological communities.  In nature's grand cycle, old-growth trees, such as our incredible Bald Cypress, become life-giving sanctuaries for countless organisms, fostering biodiversity and sustaining the vitality of the entire ecosystem.  For centuries, the Bald Cypress of the Dragon Run, has supported this incredible and vital place of inestimable value to this region.

Similarly, you can play a vital role in the ongoing legacy of our work to preserve, protect, and encourage wise use of the Dragon Watershed even after your time on this earth.
